Why Gatsby?

While vacationing in Europe, I spent my days exploring beautiful cities and my nights taking photos of them glowing in the dark. Like most travelers, I brought home magnets or little statuettes for my loved ones, and noticed they’d routinely end up forgotten on a shelf.

I wanted to create a souvenir that’s more immersive, something that lets you experience the city itself.

I didn’t know what that would be, until one day my daughter came home with a scratch drawing from school. I remembered the feeling of scratching off that black layer and seeing those vibrant colors come to life. It was simple, satisfying, and kind of magical.

That’s when I decided to create a scratch canvas for adults that is not just fun and relaxing, but also frame worthy once finished.

One year later, Gatsby Canvas was born.

I like to think of the Night Cities Canvases as a way for people like you and me to remember the places we’ve been, or dream about the places we are yet to visit.
